Peace 'a Work is located at a unique setting and is designed to provide Talladega and the surrounding area an option for arts enrichment and unique entertainment. Locally owned, the studio is home to Callie's Kids Children's Foundation and Bellevue Catering. In addition, a variety of arts education classes and other specialty courses are offered at the studio by local professionals. Our goal is to encourage and support life-long learning opportunities for people in the community. An important program supported by Peace 'a Work is Callie's Kids, a local foundation developed to promote art and other enrichment activities for all children.
The studio was built on farmland located at the corner of Alabama Highway 21 and Eastaboga Road in Talladega, Alabama. The farm includes the home of Buddy and Charlotte Wesley, also known as the J. L. M. Curry House. Declared as a National Historic Landmark, this historic house is noted for its previous owner Jabez Lamar Monroe Curry. J. L. M. Curry is a noted individual in the South recognized for his contributions in the improvement of the public school system, as well as the establishment of schools that could train teachers in the region. Owner, Dr. Kelly W. Hubbard has taken steps to honor Curry's work by supporting educational and social opportunities for the local community, children and adults alike.
